Off To California In The morning...

Hello everyone,

Just enough time for me to do a quick newsletter before heading off to Los Angeles to attend the world's largest trade fair for crafts. It's very exciting as the CHA is normally packed full of new crafting items and is an insight as to what the coming year has in store for us, what the predicted "trends" will be etc. It's also a great opportunity to catch up with crafting friends!
It's a 4am start for me tomorrow as I have to get down to Heathrow to catch my flight, so it's an early night for me! Makes a nice change huh?! Ha ha!

It's been a crazy couple of days trying to sort out all the new items and those that are back in stock for both the shop and the website. Some of these lines on my website include Embossing Folders from Tim Holtz - I love the Postcard & Sheet Music one myself.

My Workshop, Sale Continuing & Back In Stocks...

Hello everyone,

Am just taking a mini break from preparing the projects for my workshop with is on Saturday at my shop. We have had a couple of late cancellations so if you wanted to come along and couldn't please all 01254 356501 a.s.a.p.for full details and to book your ticket. The other workshop I am doing in March is already fully booked and with this year already looking like a really busy year for me, I'm not sure when I'll be holding another workshop.

Also on Saturday we have an in-store demonstration of the Cuttlebug with Lee. This will be running from 11am - 4pm so do come along and learn about it's versatility and how to get the best results with this great little machine. If you already own one, Lee will be able to advise you on how to get maximum useage from it and he will also answer any questions you might have.

Another good reason to pop along this weekend is to have a look at the new additions to our sale.

As well as 25% reduction on selected Craftwork Cards, Tim Holtz and all Christmas themed items.

We have also kept my DVD's at an incredibly low price of £5 each. Once these have gone they really will be gone and a few titles have already sold out. They are all packed with hints, tips and demonstrations which I hope will be useful for you and at £5 each, it's a very affordable way to start your own visual reference library.

It's been another really busy week both on Create & Craft and at my shop.

News, Video, Flower Patch Collection & More...

Hello everyone,

I've so much to tell you! Let's hope I remember it all! Ha ha!

As you know it's been a very busy week for me and saw the launch of my Flower Patch Collection. It was the first new designs that I had released in over a year and the first I had done for Create & Craft. You may remember that I was very nervous about it, which I know sounds silly after all this time, but with it being so many "firsts" it did add extra pressure on me. Anyway, as it turned out I really didn't need to worry! Thank you so much for helping to make my new collection such a success. I am completely overwhelmed and it really is one of those occasions where "Thank You" doesn't seem enough, but when I write it, please know that it is from my heart.

Congratulations to Annette & Nikki who won the Prize Draws on my Official Facebook Page and Blog. Prizes will be in the post first thing Monday morning! Thank you to everyone who entered and I will be having more competitions this year, details of which will be announced nearer the time.

Well, Christmas is well and truly upon us isn't it and I am certainly beginning to feel all festive now, hope you are too.

Corner and Border Punches from Xcuts have been popular too. These make nice stocking filler gifts for crafting friends at under £10 each.
Big and Juicy Ink Pads for brayering. I personally love "Waterfall", "Vibrant Primary" and "Soothing Sunset." Speedball Brayers are also available - these are, in my opinion, the very best brayer.
Due to popular demand, we now have the Embossing Plate B from Creative Expressions in stock, it's for use with the Grand Calibre and suitable for any embossing folders.
Also due to many requests from our customers, we have added the Kars Silicone Mat (for using stencils) and the C Plate - both for use with the Cuttlebug. Xcut Nesting Dies are a hot product at the moment, so we have added more to the website. Please check out the Scalloped Rectangle and the Heart ones. The Ornate Frame is lovely and the Oval and Circle ones are so useful.

Perhaps you are leaving the making of your Christmas Cards till later this year. as you may know, I tend to be very "last minute" myself and it looks like I will be keeping up that personal tradition again this year! Ha ha!

Due to popular demand, we have again, restocked the "Hunkydory Christmas Card Toppers." I particularly like "A Warm Welcome", "Christmas Post" and "Snowy Winter Cottage."

The Kanban Christmas and Winter Themed items are also still selling well with the "Wobblers" again proving popular; especially for children's cards.

Top selling craft tools this month are:- Piercing Tool, Bone Folder, Anti Static Bag, - all in the Tools Section on the website and all of which make nice, practical stocking fillers for crafting friends.

Please also keep a watch on the website for the new Dufex Decoupage lines which will be added in the next few days. We've been so busy adding new items that we haven't had time to put these "live" yet!

My classes are full day courses priced at £50 per person, which includes all materials and lunch. The day is from 10.30am until 4pm (well in theory 4pm! Ha ha! - We always over run!) These will be, as usual, packed to the brim with tips and techniques and I'll try and answer any craft questions you may have or help with any craft project you might be struggling with.

Sincere apologies to everyone who has booked for the Sheena Douglass Workshops this weekend.
Unfortunately Sheena is unwell and we regret that this means the workshops have been postponed and are now rescheduled for 25th and 26th of February.
The upside to this is that it now becomes an opportunity for a perfect Christmas gift for a fellow crafter!
Bookings are now being taken for "A Day With Sheena Douglass" with one full day costing £40 per person this includes all materials and light refreshments. Lunch is also available for an additional £5 per person and needs to be booked at the same time as the workshop.

The lovely Sheena Douglass will be joining us for a weekend of workshops. The dates are:- Saturday 3rd December & 4th December.

Sheena is a regular guest on Create & Craft where no doubt you'll have seen her amazing "Paint Fusion" where she incorporates painting with some wonderful stamps designs which also work very well as stand alone items.

Hello Everyone,

Well, here we are at the end of yet another busy week! You know me, I like to be busy, but it would be nice once in a while to have time to catch my breath! Ha ha ha!

Seriously though, thank you for your continued support for me on Create & Craft and also for continuing to patronise my shop. Thank you also for your kind comments on both; it's always nice to get your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to contact me - it really does mean a lot to me.

We have had lots of new items at the shop, so much so that getting it all out and onto shelves is taking quite a while these days! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - on the contrary, it's great fun and it's like Christmas has come early! Opening all the boxes.....and of course each item has to played with! I of course mean it has to be tested! Ha ha!

Talking of new product; we have added lots of new stamps on-line. Have you seen the new Urban Stamps from Papermania? All have a really nice vintage feel to them. Let me know what you think, okay? I really can't choose my favourite as I love them all! Take a look - they include:- Travel Print, Bird Print, Type Print, Botanical Print and at £7.95 they are great value.

Jane will actually be in-store demonstrating these this Sunday 27th November, starting at 11am and running till 4pm so if you are the area do drop in for a "cuppa" and some inspiration.

Some lovely stamp sets have arrived from Artemio - be sure to check out Manuscript Backgrounds, Bird Flourish, Feathers, Pressed Flowers and Bold Flowers - all are beautiful designs. I'm also loving the Jumbo Cling Sets from Stampendous - Dogwood and Zinnia are gorgeous! Have you seen on YouTube Fran's demonstration of encrusted jewelled technique? It's really great! We also stock the Cameo Frame, Fall Tendril and the Magical Snowman which she uses in the demo and all of which, are proving to be extremely popular.

We also have new stencils from Dreamweaver - Gears, Stockings By The Fire, and Nativity. We have added others to the range we carry and currently the Penguins, the Snowman and the 3 Deers are still top sellers although it's a close thing between those are a few other from the Dreamweaver Collection!

If you would like to try the glittering technique on double sided adhesive sheets then you may want the wonderful Hawaiian Coconut and Palm Oil Soap! It smells lovely and is great for washing your hands even if you haven't been crafting!

After receiving many requests, I have now added our Brown Kraft Cards to the on-line shop. These are made from recycled material and give a really nice, raw natural effect! There are 50 of one size in a pack, but I will be putting together a 15 pack of assorted sizes if you would like to try them. Keep you eye on the Website as we will be putting them on-line shortly.

As Christmas items are still selling so well I've just added the Hunkydory Diorama Kit which is quite magical! Each kit makes four dimensional cards and with the kit priced at £4.99; they work out at just over £1 each which is excellant value!
The Me To You Winter Wonderland Stamp Set is now available and features the cute Tatty Ted! Who can resist a Teddy, especially at Christmas-time?

Our Christmas Party night was a huge success and I've been asked if there's time to have another one. Well, after checking the calendar, I've discovered that I can just about squeeze a party in on Thursday 8th December. How are you fixed? Is that a good date for you? I hope so. We will also be having it as our Christmas Late Night Shopping Event, when we'll be open until 9pm.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our "Christmas Party Night" and for making it such a great success! We all ate too many mince pies, chocolates and drank lots of mulled wine! Yes I know, where's the "bad?" Ha ha!

We have so many fabulous new lines in the shop and we will be demonstrating and running "make n takes" again this Saturday and Sunday too so do please pop in if you are in the area.

I have received a lot of requests for more workshops so we do have a couple of dates in the diary, with more being added all the times.

Jane will be running a day of classes on Saturday 26th November. The programme is 10am - 12.30pm card making and 1.30pm - 4pm it is scrap booking. Each class costs £15.00 which includes all materials .

I'm also delighted to confirm Sheena Douglass will be back with us on Saturday December 3rd and Sunday 4th December with her Paint Fusion range. More details will be released nearer to the event.

This week has been really busy online with lots of you buying a wide range of items but a lot of you seem to be trying out Gilding as among the best sellers on line this week are the Gilding flakes, double sided adhesive and texture sponges!

will be adding a selection of black stained glass peel offs (the ones I use all the time in my shows) 8 assorted designs for £5.00 - these includes trees, woodland designs, skyline, fisherman, African animals, Nativity, reindeer scenes etc. These will be on line over the weekend.
Glitter Border Peel Offs have also been a top seller, so too are the new Stampendous Cling Stamps, in particular "Bird Song" and the "Cameo Frame."

We have, due to popular demand, restocked the "Robin's Garden Collection" from Kanban and have just introduced some lovely toppers from Hunkydory into the shop so watch out for those also appearing online soon.

Our special "Twinkle Card" packs are still huge sellers along with the Kanban "Basic Card Stock" which is perfect for all stamping and blending techniques. They come in packs of 10, A4 card for a great value price of £1.80. Available in White, Cream, Ivory and Black, it is certainly a "must have" core item for your craft room.

An early start for me today as I'm on air with my own shows at 2pm-4pm and 7pm (all on Create & Craft.) I really hope that you can join me, as not only do I have a lot of really lovely things to tempt you with:- Alcohol Inks, Embossing Folders and I am featuring some Tim Holtz products today to mention just a few items. Oh and also the Bo Bunny pads that flew out the door last time are now back in stock! But I will be presenting the shows on my own today so will be glad of your company! NEC & A Christmas Party

Hello everyone,

Well the dark nights are certainly upon us aren't they? It's a lovely time to wrap up warm and indulge in some good crafting evenings in front of the fire! Or, if you do fancy a trip out, then how about coming along to our Christmas Party at my shop?

It's on Thursday 10th November and we are planning to have a fun night of crafting as well as fund raising in aid of the East Lancashire Hospice.

The party starts at 6pm and finishes at 9pm.

We will be serving mulled wine with mince pies whilst running "make and takes" and having lots of demonstrations.

It certainly has been busy lately here at my shop with loads of new deliveries arriving daily. We are, of course, trying to get lots of new goodies online as fast as we can, so do keep your eye on the website for them.

So far the new items on-line including the brand new cling stamps from Stampendous - I'm loving the new Cameo Frame and Romantic Border myself, in fact I may just be using those at the party night!

We also have new additions to the Woodware acrylic stamps including Camelia and Clematis. If your still looking for Christmas items, the Poinsettia is beautiful and the Christmas House is perfect.

In the Artemio stamp section make sure you take a look at the Bird Flourish and Floral Elements - both are lovely!

Oh and we have the Castaway (bleaching) Ink Pad in stock. The Glue Palette is also available again and is ideal if you fancy gilding your stamped images. We also have the Texture Sponges back in stock and you will find them in the new section on the website for all items to do with Gilding.

Also just arrived are the brand new Tim Holtz "Seasonal Ink Pads." They are a special pack of 3 Limited Edition Ink Pads and come in a choice of Winter or Fall but be quick as stocks may not last very long!

Have you tried the new Inverse Corner Punch? It's a current favourite of mine - just pop a jewel into the cut-out for a fab accent!

We have the regular corner rounder too if you prefer that look to your cards and ATCs.

Also new in stock are the Darice Embossing Folders. There are so many fabulous designs which work with all the major machines. Embossing Folders are proving to be really popular, and we are pleased to be able to increase the range we offer you.

Product wise ooohhhh where do I start?
Well, new stock includes:- the pretty Pixie Glen from Prima. These are gorgeous paper pads with the matching flowers for which Prima are renowned. We also have lots of other pretty flowers from Prima with the Essentials Collection already proving popular. Also check out the Chipboard Shapes and Resistant Canvas, they are really beautiful.
Also new are Paper Rose Packs from Marianne D. These are great value at £2.99. Perfect for adding a finishing touch to all of your projects.
We also have some really cute Acrylic Mini Stamps from cArt-us at just £1.25 each... My personal favourites are the cute owls and butterflies!

There are lots of new additions in the Woodware clear stamps too - the"Woodland House" is my favourite out of these (it could be made really spooky for Halloween!)

Hope you are well.

Everything is fine here and it's been lovely to have some "down time" this week after quite a chaotic month.

Thank you for all your tweets, posts and Emails of concern, I really do appreciate every single one.

As I've said, all is well here and I was just taking some time out to slow my life down a little for a while. I have also been using the time to plan some new designs which I hope you will like.

Wasn't it nice to see the Sunshine again! Shame it didn't last long but never mind. It was lovely while it lasted! Have to admit, I wasn't too impressed that the Weather Gods had decided to turn on the heat when I had some much to do inside, but then isn't that always the way?

How are you getting on with making your Christmas Cards? Can you believe how fast Christmas is approaching?! Have you started making your Christmas Cards yet? Or are you a "last minuter" like me?

I have a friend who has incredibly already got her cards made and is now working through her list of presents! Oh! To be that organised! Ha ha ha!

I will be back on your Television screens on Sunday with some lovely shows and it will be back to the normal Tuesday hours for me own crafting shows.

The Christmas Collections from Kanban - Norfolk Cottage and Hampshire Cottage have also come back into stock. So too has the Kanban Steam Punk although we are still awaiting the stamps but hope to have them on-line as soon as we take delivery of them, so please keep your eye on the website shop for those.

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads are back in stock and we also have some of Tim's new Christmas Adornments which are gorgeous. I personally like the reindeer and snowflakes. What do you think of them?

It was mentioned to me the other day that the Topaz Web Shop has never offered such a vast choice before. It's true! It hasn't!

I am really pleased that you are liking the new improved on-line service that we are offering you and we intend to be adding even more items very shortly. I just wish that I had room in this newsletter to tell you more of our plans...but I think I'll save that for another day!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying this lovely heat wave? As you know, I adore the sunshine - but don't really want to work in it!

Today, I've been busy in my shop getting new stock out, doing displays and planning the "Make 'N' Takes" for Sunday which is one of the events this weekend taking place in the Topaz Shop.
On Saturday, 1st October, Mary will be demonstrating Paper Patchwork With Stamps. On Sunday, 2nd October Tracy and Lee will be demonstrating the Cuttlebug V2 as well as running free "Make 'n' Takes. At this event we will be collecting donations for the East Lancashire Hospice so please come along and join in the fun and at the same time, help to raise money for a very worthy cause - Thank you.

The "Make 'N' Takes" will be featuring 2 of my own collections - "Woodland Friends" and the "Watercolour Garden." Both of which will be on a "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" offer.

We have just taken delivery of the lovely Papermania "Enchanted Christmas Collection" which I have discovered, during a very happy afternoon of playing (I of course mean conducting important research ha ha!) It looks fabulous with any of the stickles iridescent glitter glue added. Also it matches beautifully with our twinkle card which is still one of our best sellers both on line and in store.

I am also pleased that you are enjoying the special Peel Off sets I put together. For those little pieces of peel offs (and of course a lot of other things,) we now have the sticky tip pick up tool in stock. It is a fab little gadget and fast becoming a favourite of mine!

There are a lot of new items in store and on-line, but to mention a few...

The Collal 3D Glue Gel is whizzing out the door and is perfect for all your dimensional work - it also comes with the syringe which is extremely helpful for exact placements of the glue.

We have the Versamark Large Ink Pad back in stock which is my personal choice for embossing and the Versamark Pen which is excellent for detailed embossing, is now also available from Topaz Crafts.

New designs are now available in the Kanban "Christmas Wobblers" Collection and a limited stock of my own "Tartan Pals" have now been added to the website. You may have seen me demonstrating them on Create & Craft recently. Other additions on-line include more designs from my collection "Perfect Pets" which I hope you will like.

It's been another fast paced week at this end - Just two days at home and then back again to Peterborough; but then isn't it always a case of having to play catch-up for a while before you get back into a regular routine after a few days away.

You may remember me mentioning that I have been nominated for a couple of awards in this years Crafts Beautiful Awards. Thank you again to all those who nominated me, it really was most kind of you.

In addition to the Sunday 25th September list of hours in my last newsletter, I will be on your screens at 11am tomorrow (Sunday) morning. A full list of my appearances are at the end of this newsletter.
Also, as a little "heads-up"; the shows on Tuesday will be a Christmas crafting theme so I hope you can tune in and I will try and fit in as many tips and hints as I can.

Meanwhile, in the Topaz shop we have lots of items back in stock, including some Dawn Bibby products. My Woodland Collection for instance is now fully available including the popular owl designs ( the stamps are also available) However the availability of stock is limited so do please be quick to avoid disappointment! We will also try and get more of these back on line as soon as we can.

Some of my favourites of our new items include some very affordable Christmas message sheets from Anita's , decoupage, acrylic stamps and embossing folders. "Jingle Bells" and "Pom Poms" embellishments too. The mini tree lights and boxes of mini bells have been really popular and for adding snow to your projects the Stellar Flash gilding flakes is the perfect thing and we now have this item available in tubs for just £2.50 each.
We also have the gorgeous new Christmas stamps from Sheena Douglass and Stampendous while in store we also have cute Christmas single stamps for an amazing price of £1.25 each!

Embossing folders and gilding flakes have proved to be the best selling items this week - along with the texture sponges which are a must have for that professional finish.

Hello everyone,

What a busy week we have had in store and online with all the new goodies coming into stock!

Thank you all so much for your orders and visits to the store. We are re-stocking the shelves as I speak - the new Kanban Steampunk and Christmas ranges have been flying out! The Embossing Folders are also proving to be extremely popular, especially the Christmas ones.

We also have a lot of new items and "back in stock" items in all sections of the Webite so do please take a look. If there is something you are looking for and can't see it on the website, please call the shop. We may have it in stock, just haven't put it up on line yet!

We have just added a huge selection of Dreamweaver stencils to our stock both on-line and in-store.
I'm pleased to say the lovely Mary will be in the shop this Saturday 11am - 4pm demonstrating the Dreamweaver range with various techniques including paste, gilding flakes and glitter! Mary is a wizard with the stencils and has created many samples for my shows over the years.

On Sunday we have a new demonstrator in store, a lovely lady and friend of mine - who is currently in love with the Kanban Steampunk range! Tracy will be showcasing her ideas and tips using also the Cuttlebug , our new Embossing Folders and these beautiful new toppers.

So if you are in the area do pop in and join us, we will be serving complimentary tea and coffee as usual!

Hubbys welcome too - the Hubby's hideaway with Sky TV will hopefully keep them happy while you shop!

Well! It's Been Quite A Week!

Hello Everyone,

Well! It's been quite a week!

First let me apologise for not being on air last Tuesday(5th September) at 5pm or 7pm . As you might already know, the reason for this was that my partner was rushed into hospital with chest pains and obviously I was distraught and needed to go to him. Fortunately he was strong enough to be discharged that evening - he is now at home resting and thankfully is feeling much better.

Whilst I offer my sincere apologises for you having to watch repeats at 5 & 7 on Tuesday, both my partner and I also offer our sincere thanks for all the support and get well messages you have generously sent. We are extremely touched by your kindness and we are both very grateful.

I would just like to clarify that my shop is not closing down! While it is up for sale we are trading as normal. In fact I am just re-stocking it with lots of new "goodies!" These will be available in the shop and on-line next week after the in-store sale finishes.

Hello Everyone,

What a busy week it has been, my feet just don't seem to touch the ground anymore! 3 days in my shop, 4 days in studio ! What a crazy life I'm leading at the moment, all good fun though!
I've been so busy prepping next weeks show and thought I would include a couple of "sneaky peeks" at some samples that will be in my shows on Tuesday! I hope you like them!

So many changes are happening to me not only on a personal level and also to my business this year!
Dawn Bibby Designs/Topaz Crafts have had some new people joining us and sadly some leaving us.
After 9 years of working at the shop, Jane, who has been my right hand girl and helped with all my TV shows, has decided to move away from the area. I'm pleased to say Jane will continue to help with card samples but never the less, I'll miss having her around on a day to day basis.
This week also saw Christian my nephew. leave to start a new job. Although working behind the scenes, his merchandising in-store , running mail order and funny sense of humour will be very much missed.
So I'd like to say a big thank you to Jane and Chris for their support and hard work in particular this year.

The powers that be have asked me to do extra shows on Sunday 14th August at 3pm. Then on Wednesday 17th August(Craft Day)I have been asked to do a couple more hour long shows at 11am and 7pm.

An Update.

Good Morning Everyone,

I thought it was time I gave you all an update and my personal opinion on a few comments I am hearing from some of you about my "switching channels."

I have now been at Create & Craft for 3 months and am absolutely loving it!
Why did I not do it sooner?
Well, I guess I was nervous after hearing so many negative things, plus having been in one place for 18 years, it was an extremely tough decision for me to make.
Have I made the right decision? YES! Absolutely!
I have never worked with such passionate people who really care about the shows, the craft, the education and you, the viewer!

One of the main reasons I am writing this today is because of a number of messages I am receiving which, whilst wish me well, also state "But I don't like Create and Craft" or "I won't watch Create and Craft." To be honest, there was a time I would have agreed with you and probably said exactly the same! But things change and time doesn't stand still. Life dictates that we have to move on.

Over the past 8 years I have watching the Create & Craft channel grow and I became more and more impressed with the combination of entertainment, education and openness to the industry that I love. They are not afraid to try new things plus revive and reinvigorate crafts that have been disappearing from the High Street. For Example - How many knitting and sewing specialist stores do you now see around you and those that do exsist, how many give demonstrations?!

The Create & Craft channel really listens to you, the viewer - look at The Paper Clinic shows - answering the questions that you send in.... it really is interactive T.V. at it's very best.

Create & Craft also brings to you the UK's best crafting experts, as well as from all over the world; whilst allowing them time to demonstrate and explain things properly. It gives you a chance to learn from the very best in the business.

It's an absolute pleasure to work with so many talented crafty folk - from small UK companies to massive USA corporations - they all have a place and an opportunity to shine on Create and Craft. All with such diverse styles and products. They also bring you all the up-to-date products and trends in the world of crafting faster than anyone else can!

8 years is a relatively short time for any channel to be running and yes, they have learnt a lot along the way. No doubt there is much more to learn and get right; but it's you the viewer that helps us do that. It's you that keep the channel running!

Many of you tell me that you love watching the shows and learn so much from them and for that I thank you.

Did you know that we are the only country in the world with a dedicated crafting channel, how special is that?! It's incredible!! But you know what? To keep it and to improve it even more, we need you to support it! We need you to shop with us and give it a chance to develop and improve even more.

I ask you this one question - Can you imagine going back to a time when we didn't have a crafting channel??? A horrible thought huh?

I have faith in Create & Craft, I really do or I wouldn't have moved to the channel.
I truly believe my shows are better than they ever were or could have been on "the other side!"
I can only hope that you will take the time to tune in, watch, and see for yourself the improvement already made to the channel.

I know it may take time to convince you - I mean, it took me a while to agree to join the channel! However, I am now totally convinced that I have made the right choice in switching channels and I hope that you agree with me when I say that it was a very wise move for me to make.

From reading a lot of your messages, I know there has been a number of problems with deliveries and customer services - so I will try and address this too....
Imagine if suddenly thousands of extra customers turned up at your business doorway all at once! The door frame would break with everyone trying to come in at once. In Create & Craft's case so many people trying to order all at the same time caused the website to crash resulting in minor chaos. It has happened a couple of times since I joined however, the tech guys have now addressed it and have made and are still making improvements to the system.

Yes, I know there have been other issues and believe me the management are taking it all very seriously. They are taking steps to improve the way the company operates with you the customer in mind. But I'm afraid there isn't a quick answer to these issues, It all takes time, especially when you are dealing with thousands and thousands of customers in a day - it's no mean feat I can tell you!

Although we get a lot of Emails from happy, satisfied customers, unfortunately it's rare for these to be posted on forums and sadly it's seems that only the complaints make their way into the public domain.
Perhaps some of you could leave your "good comments/stories" about Create & Craft here, on my blog, to encourage others. It would certainly help to address the balance a little!

Well, I hope this gives you all some encouragement to shop with Create & Craft if you aren't already doing so. I really do believe in this channel, and I hope that you do too.

Thank you so very much for your support. Your kind words and the fact you are always "there for me" in one way or another really does mean the world to me.

"Sorry For The Silence..."

Sorry for the silence. It's been a really hectic couple of weeks for me and I have started to write this Email several times; only for something to crop up and demand my attention and, by the time I've sat down again the phone has rung! Do you get times when you seem to be running like crazy but don't seem to be getting anywhere? Frustrating isn't it? Oh well, life's rich tapestry huh?! Anyway, I'll make up for it by making this a long letter! Ha ha!

Life at Create and Craft is great fun and I'm really enjoying myself! It is such a refreshing change to be able to finish demos and show different techniques to you. From all the nice posts on Facebook, "Tweets" on Twitter and Emails to the shop; I sense that you are sharing my feelings! I'm really glad that you are enjoying the shows and thank you so much for joining me on this new adventure! I'm still learning as I go, but I'll get there in the end! Ha ha!

Before I tell you about all the great things that we have in the shop and on-line for you, I really want to just clear one thing up. Although the actual building is up for sale we are still trading as normal.

We have been really busy with personal callers into the shop, and I'm sorry I can't be there to meet you personally, but my loyal and talented staff are always on hand to advise and make recommendations for you. We have some new In-Store Offers including Buy 1 Get 1 Free, 3 for 2's, some specially hand selected packs; including packs of flowers at special prices. We have an amazing deal on peel offs and a special price on my DVD's of 3 for £12-50 or £5-00 each. We are also introducing a Weekly Special Offer which will run from Saturday to Friday or while stocks last. This week it is a set of my Acrylic Stamps and next week.... ooooh! Who knows what it will be! You'll just have to come along and see! Ha ha!

On-line, we have continued the free P&P and Goody Bag for orders over £15. As promised the new Kanban Collections are up on the website and already you are loving them and they are selling as fast as we can put them up! We also have some really great card stock from Kanban for all you stampers out there! A4 in size and available in 3 colour choices, White, Cream and Black they come in packs of 10. Being plain and 230 GSM it's perfect for all stamping and colouring techniques. We also have some special offers for on-line customers. There are special hand selected packs for you at very special prices including Sukura Pens, Adhesives, papers etc. These types of packs will be added to the website periodically so make sure you keep an eye out for them! There's now a special section for them on the Website. Due to the recent popularity of the "Lucky Dips" we did on the Christmas Papers, we have decided to do more of them for you. The first to be added is a special Halloween one with a RRP of £10 and on offer for just £5-00. Again, we know that you love these packs and plan to do more of them for you but you have to keep an eye on the website for them!

Right, off to prep for tomorrow's shows. I'm on Create & Craft in my usual 2-4pm slot, 5pm and again at 7pm. I do hope that you can join me as I really do have some beautiful things to show you. Hello Everyone...

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to thank you all for your get well messages.

It seems I have had a severe kidney infection which knocked me off my feet and into hospital on Saturday night! It started on holiday and although I was taking medicine given to me by a chemist it flared up again during the afternoon on Saturday.
At first the Doctors thought it likely to be kidney stones but thankfully, a scan that I had today, showed that they were wrong!

Sincere apologies to all of you that came hoping to meet me at Doncaster on Sunday but I really was not well enough.

I'm at home resting,"popping pills" and am pleased to report that today I am feeling a little better.
All being well I will be back on your screens this Sunday.

Hope you are keeping well.

As you may already know, I've just spent a week in Spain. I had a wonderful time recharging the batteries! It would appear that I managed to bring the sunshine back with me too!
It finally does look as though Summer has arrived doesn't it...well at least today it does!

I'm really hoping that the forecast is for good weather this weekend as I'm attending my first crafting event as a Create & Craft presenter!
As you may know, I am at the Doncaster Summer Crafting Weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. If you can come along then do please come and say hello!
I shall be at the Create & Craft area demonstrating and I am looking forward to seeing new faces as well as catching up with some familiar ones.

Gosh I've had a busy week!

I'm thoroughly enjoying my new role at Create and Craft. It's such fun working with so many talented people and learning about new techniques. I recently had a lovely time with Sarah Milsop from Beaders Companion and made a pretty bracelet too!

I am shooting off on holiday in the morning but have popped into work and caught up with my "crafty crew" to bring you a few new goodies online as well as some special offers for personal callers or telephone orders which I can't wait to tell you about!

"Where did the last week go?"

Where did the last week go! Did it go as fast for you as it did for me?
Come to think of it, we're nearly at the end of June already! Where did the last month go?!

Actually, this is a very interesting month. For instance, did you know that in Icelandic folklore it says that if you bathe naked in the morning dew on the morning of June 24th, you are supposed to delay the aging process and stay younger for longer! (Am checking for cheap flights to Reykjavik as I type!)

Another interesting fact is.......it is amazing what you can find out about the month of June when you're laying on a sofa with your leg up on cushions! Ha ha!

Thank you all for your kind messages, I'm pleased to say that the leg is much better now and I am awaiting some test results. People are also telling me that they can hear me coming towards them as I now make creaking sounds as I walk!!

For those of you who don't know what happened... a couple of weeks ago now, my leg was very swollen and sore. It seemed my old arthritic problem had raised its head, plus I pulled a muscle running through the airport after a delayed flight. It got steadily worse and I had to go to a walk-in clinic after my last show on air for Create and Craft. They gave me some anti-inflammatory painkillers and a few days later I saw my own GP who referred me to the Hospital for test and ordered me to rest it.

I have used some of this "convalescence period" to plan lots of new shows for the coming months and I have also watched Create and Craft to get more familiar with the channel's format as I'll soon be doing full shows on my own - so I think I have been using my time wisely!

I shall be back on Create & Craft this Sunday and here are the details of my next shows on C&C:-
Sunday June 26th - 3pm - 4pm, 5pm - 6pm & 7pm - 8pm
(The 5pm & 7pm I will be doing my first shows alone - both are craft outlets so do tune in to support me as I will be so nervous!)

Tuesday June 28th -2-4pm and 7pm - 8pm (Both featuring some fabulous vintage themed items)
Wednesday June 29th - Noon - 1pm

I do hope you will enjoy this week's shows. I know we have had a few teething problems after the website crashing on my first show and there has been some catching up to do. I'm so sorry for the delay in orders being received. Please do not give up on us, we are all working on putting together great shows and solving any niggling issues.

A Quick Update...

Well you can tell I'm back in Lancashire! Rain, rain and guess what? Yes, more rain! Aaarrrgh!!

I've just returned from a few days in Portugal where the weather was lovely and I'm missing it already! I love England but I really don't like the weather we have here! As you know, I prefer sunshine... Actually I think Create & Craft should open a branch abroad - I'm sure there would be lots of volunteers to craft somewhere exotic! Oh fantasy land! Ha ha!

As I watch the rain running down my window I am making an addition to my "things to do" list. To set up a crafting business abroad is now a definite - oooooh! Can you imagine it? Crafting by a pool! Clear blue skies and sun over head! Oh and I'd better lose a dress size beforehand! Ha ha!

But it is nice to be home with my animals, I miss them so much while I'm away. I'm on the sofa as I write this, surrounded by my dogs! Cuddles and wet kisses all around.

I will be back on air on Tuesday 14th June on Create & Craft at 2pm-4pm and 7pm-8pm.
I might also be on air Wednesday, but it hasn't been confirmed yet so please check my blog or the Facebook pages for an update.

"It's Been Quite A Week!"

Well, it's been quite a week hasn't it!

Firstly; thank you so much for your lovely messages and Emails of good wishes for my debut show. Thank you also for watching it!

I'm used to people blaming me for always keeping them poor because they spend so much on crafting materials; now I'm having to get used to being blamed for bringing down Ideal World/Create & Craft websites and phone system! Ha ha!

As you may know because so many people were unable to get their orders through, I did the shows again the next day, same products but with Debbie instead of Leonie. That was a little surreal in itself, but then, at the end of the second show, poor Debbie's back seized up and with no one to cover for her, I went on to present the first 10 minutes of the 5pm show until Debbie was able to return! Talk about a baptism of fire!

It was fun though and everyone at Ideal World gave me such a lovely warm welcome that I already feel like part of the team and not so much the new girl any more!

It's been a busy week at Topaz too - personal callers into the shop have been greeted with new bargains every day as the massive clear out continues!

The charity "Goody-Bags" are still proving extremely popular and our thanks go to those who are helping to raise money for such a worthy cause.

On-line, we have extended both the FREE P&P for orders over £10 and the FREE gift on all orders over £15.

There are new items coming in over the next few days so keep your eyes open for new collections from Kanban and Craftwork Cards and we are pleased to report we are also increasing the range of the ever popular Card Candi available to buy in the on-line shop!
In the "Reduced Item" section we have added some more items including, to name just a few, Slice Design Cards (inc some MS+ ones), my DVDs are now all £5-00 and we have some Kanban foiled inserts on offer for £2-00 for a pack of 20.

Still proving extremely popular with our customers are the amazing Paint Fusion Stamps and the sets of paints to use with them, Sheena's lovely "A Little Bit Sketchy" Stamps, Kanban Toppers, Card Candi (we added a dozen new collections today and have more coming!) The Floral Jumbo Clings from Stampendous, Craft Concepts Embossing folders, Dreamweaver Stencils, Prima and Petaloo Flowers, Collall Photo Glue and last but not least, the set of 2 "Pokey Tools" we sell!

My next appearance on Create & Craft is on June 14th but I am not sure of the hours at the time of writing this. I will let you know in the next newsletter.

Well,"D Day" as Create and Craft are calling it is almost here! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone, the past week has just flown by!
Have you ever changed your job after a long time in one place? If you have then I am sure you will know exactly what I mean when I say that I'm feeling a little nervous, but only in a good, excited kind of way! I am sure that it is going to be great fun and I am really looking forward to working with Leonie again. I know from your messages that it's a reunion many of you are also looking forward too!

Over the past weekend Sheena Douglass was holding workshops at Topaz and we now have her amazing "A Little Bit Sketchy" stamps and Paint Fusion products on the website. We will also be putting samples from the workshop up on the gallery in the next few days.

The website (http://www.topazcrafts.tv/) is still steadily growing with more and more products being included in the on-line shop. We are also adding some videos and samples in the gallery so do please take a look and let us know what you think. Your feedback is always most welcome.

Hello everyone!

Just a quick note and to say a huge thank you for all your lovely comments, Emails and cards! I am overwhelmed by your kindness and good wishes. I'm sorry I can't reply to everyone individually but I am reading every thing sent or posted to me, I promise!

After a busy week at Create & Craft, I'm now back home preparing for next week's shows and I hope that you can join me at the usual time, usual day....but on a different channel! Sky Channel 671, Freeview 36 and Freesat 813. You can also watch on line at http://www.createandcraft.tv

I am really looking forward to next week and it will be really nice to be able to get to work with so many of my crafting friends! One of whom, Sheena Douglass is at my studios this weekend. I Can't Wait To Create And Craft!

I know you have all been waiting for an update from me, well the time is here!

I'm thrilled to announce that I have now joined the team at Create and Craft and I will be back on your screens next Tuesday (31st May) 2-4pm!! (Also throughout Craft Day on Wednesday 1st June.) Join me and my special friend Leonie for an incredible reunion show!

This is the first of many fantastic shows we have planned for you over the coming months. As you know I have my shop and commitments in the north to juggle, but I really wanted to get back on your screens as soon as possible.

I will update you on all my appearances in June and I can't wait for July when I will be with you on a much more regular basis.

The last few days have been a whirlwind meeting all my new colleagues and the whole team at Peterborough. I'm so excited and looking forward to working with so many enthusiastic and passionate people in the world of crafting.

Once again I would like to thank you all for your wonderful support via email, facebook and twitter, it has been a crazy few weeks on my personal rollercoaster of life but I'm ready for the next stage of my journey to begin.

Hello everyone!

Well! What a crazy week I have had! It seems I've hardly had time to catch my breath and things are moving so fast now that it really is literally making my head spin!

Time is really precious at the moment as I am still being kept busy clearing out my prep rooms at the Design Studio. I am beginning to believe that someone is coming into the studio after we've gone home and dumping more craft things into the rooms because every morning there seems to be even more things to sort out then there were when we left the night before!!
Seriously, there is still a lot of work to be done and it's going to take a good few weeks to sort out properly. The job is a big one, and I am very grateful to my team who have not only been helping me but have, as always, been extremely supportive. They have all been wonderful, they really have. So thank you gang!

We are managing to add daily, sometimes hourly, to the Clearance Section in the store. These include special "Goody Bags" which are, I'm pleased to say, proving to be extremely popular with our customers. I have been asked it these could also be sold on-line but I'm afraid the answer is no. This is because the proceeds from sale of these go to The East Lancashire Hospice so are cash sales only. But we do have a new offer for our on-line shoppers, but more of that later.

We are also being kept very busy with the task of re-building the on-line shop and again, we are adding things to it daily. Thank you for your patience and for your kind comments on the changes we have been making. We are glad you like the improvements!

The "hot items" are now all back in stock on-line. The Superior Stamping Card, Stampendous Jumbo Stamps, the Artemio range of stamps along with cardstock and toppers from Kanban and Craftwork Cards.

In the next day or so we will be adding stamps from Crafty Individuals, Lindsay Mason and Andy Skinner as these are proving to be extremely popular with personal callers into the store and we want to give our mail order customers the chance to purchase them too!

It has taken a while, but finally, we have most of my own range now up on the website! These included some of the collections I have designed; Woodland Tweet, Amore, Watercolour Garden, Prism Delights, and Fairyland to name a few! We now have a large section of my acrylic and rubber stamps on-line with many at half price.

We are hoping to add my card stock and vellums this week so do please check back regularly and let me know what you think of them. We really do appreciate your feed back.

What a week it has been! It's a funny old life, with many twists and turns.
Well, I have been saying for sometime that I had lots of new beginnings planned!
I'm also a great believer that things happen for a reason in life - we just don't always know it at the time.

At the moment, I'm busy cleaning out my prep and store rooms at my studio. It's very sad but cleansing at the same time. The end of an era – an 18 year long era!
I have lots of used workshop supplies and “scraps” that I will be selling off in my store . Proceeds of some will be going to charity so if you want to bag a bargain then do please pop in to the shop.
Think I'll be at it all week - very long job ahead!

I've also been clearing out our stock room and in the next few days we will be putting a number of new sale items on-line - slice design cards and accessories, flippin' stamps to name just a couple. So keep a watch on the website as we are continuously adding more items.
Lots of new products have also arrived, including some fantastic new acrylic stamps from Artemio – I really love all the new designs! Some of my current favourites will be featured on the Topaz website in the next day or so, along with the great new lines from Prima and a lot of new additions from Tim Holtz - I adore the new tissue tape designs! Also the glassine paper is fab!
Embossing folders are now back in stock at the new on-line price of £3.50 and at last the re-order of the sycamore tree has arrived!
We have also just taken delivery of the Stampendous Jumbo Cling Stamps range. (These were the large floral stamps you may remember seeing me use with the last TSV.) They really are beautiful both in appearance and to work with.
All the Kanban toppers are still proving best sellers and the newly added superior stamping card (perfect for solvent based pens) is flying out!
Do please keep a watch on the website and if there is something you are looking for and can not find it on the site, please do call us as we've probably got it in stock in the shop, but haven't had the time to put it on-line yet! We are more than happy to take your order over the telephone.
P&P is free and we have extended until the end of May, the free gift offer with every on-line order over £15.00.

I wish to offer my sincere apologise for the delay on packages going out this week - I'm sure you can imagine we had many issues to deal with internally. I am pleased to be able to say we are now back up to speed.

I really wish I could but at the moment I have a mountain of things to organise and there really aren't enough hours in the day for me to be able to do all the things I need to. However, please accept my heartfelt thanks. You will never know how much your messages mean to me.

Hello everyone,
Thank you for all your messages of support and concern. I know you have all been waiting to hear from me personally.
Well, as you know I have left QVC and am on to pastures new.
This has been a very long and hard decision for me to make after 18 years in one place.
I have loved my role at QVC and relished every moment however things change and people change. It is time for a new adventure for me. I had hoped to continue and work until the 1st of July however the decision has been taken out of my control.
I can confirm I am in discussions with Create and Craft.
I believe Create and Craft are fully embracing the craft industry. They are focused on this industry and have demonstrated that they are taking crafting on tv to the next level and I am thoroughly excited at the prospect.
As you all know Craft is my life and my passion and all I ever wanted to do was share that with everyone else.
I will of course update you all as soon as there is any more news, for now as planned I am having a little break and spring cleaning my home.
I will of course miss all of my QVC presenter friends and work colleagues. There has been much fun, laughter and tears over the years and I would like to thank all of them for their friendship, support and love they have shown to me.
I also would like to say a huge thank you to all of you reading this ! Thank you for the incredible support and love you have shown me over the years I really appreciate it. It's been an incredible rollercoaster ride - one of which I'm not about to get off just yet!
The next ride will start shortly so watch this space.....

What A Week!

Well what a week I have had! Hope you had a better one than I did!

On Tuesday evening after dinner with the QVC competition winners, during the long drive back to Lancashire, the car broke down! Had to be brought home on a flat bed truck! 12 hours later I finally got to my bed! What an horrific experience, I certainly do not recommend being huddled in the front of a truck for 10 hours - Sore back and exhausted! Oh well!

I will be on your screens midnight on Sunday into Monday, then through the day I will be on air:- 1am,11am (back at 12.45 briefly) 2pm,3pm and 6pm. Please note no show on Tuesday!I have now updated my QVC shows on the blogs and my website so check back periodically as this schedule can be subject to change.

We have been so busy in the mail order shop on my website that I have decided to extend the free gift offer on orders over £15.00 till the end of May. I really do appreciate your business and I know you have really liked the gifts. Thank you again for your feed back.

Just Had A Fabulous Weekend At My Store!

On Saturday I had a lovely group of ladies for cardmaking in the morning and scrapbooking in the afternoon!

We ate far too many biscuits and cakes then crafted until we dropped! (If you were there...Hope I didn't work you all too hard!) In the morning, I used the lovely best creations Bella range and the fab Andy Skinner stamps. For scrapbooking we did a mini book with Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante (see picture below) - A page with Basic Grey papers and a two page spread with some lovely spring papers.

On Sunday Lindsay Mason spent the morning Spring cardmaking using some of her new stamps - I personally love the tattered butterfly! In the afternoon we were Steampunked too!! Can you tell we love Steampunk here at my store?!

Thought I would share a few photos with you all.

The next workshops coming up with Jane Goff (May 14th) and Sheena Douglass (May 29th) - I'll try and post some photos soon of the sort of thing you can expect to create in these workshops. If you would like to come along, please call 01254 356501 a.s.a.p as we only have a few spaces open now!

Happy Royal Wedding Day!

I hope you have all enjoyed following the big event today!

As my shop is closed for the occasion, I have been watching the day unfold at home - while also preparing for my workshop tomorrow.

It's been wonderful to see all the gorgeous outfits and posh hats! I thought Princess Catherine and bridesmaids looked incredible! Prince William and Prince Harry were so smart too. It has been such a lovely, and much welcomed event for our country after so many recent sad and trying times. I was quite surprised to see the Queen in yellow, but must say she looked very nice!

This afternoon I'm off out to celebrate in a local village called Whalley that are having a street party and fayre to celebrate. I'm sure many of you are celebrating across the country too. Let's hope the weather stays kind!

As you know, I wasn't on television this week and it has enabled me to spend time in my shop, which has been lovely! Once again we have been very busy with lots of new lines arriving! We have managed to get a few online for you - some lovely flowers from Prima, and now, finally, my Black Lace Collection is up in the online shop for you to see! There are more DB Collections to follow shortly.

We have also just received Kanban's new "Floral Tapestry Collection". These are now available in store but no images yet online (hopefully we'll have that up for you next week) but do please call the shop if you are looking for anything specific and can't see it on the website. As I said before, we probably have it in stock, we just haven't had time to put it onto the website yet! We are more than happy to take your call whether to offer advice or to take your order by phone.
The new Andy Skinner and Lindsay Mason stamps are going down a storm! In fact Lindsay is in my shop teaching on Sunday (1st May) - I believe a few spaces are still available. So please call 01254 356501 if you fancy making a few cards with one of the industry's finest! Lindsay's workshops are always great fun!

Speaking of our May workshops; Sheena's Saturday "Paint Fusion" classes on May 28th have sold out so by popular demand we have changed the afternoon workshop on May 29th to an additional "Paint Fusion" class. The morning workshop of "A Little Bit Sketchy" will remain unchanged. If you would like to book a place for either, or both of the Sunday events, please call 01254 356501.

Workshops and Qvc

Morning all!
Hope you are enjoying the uptake in the weather? It certainly puts me in a much happier frame of mind. I love sunshine and warmth, would just like more of it.
For now its head down and work hard I'm afraid, bills to pay, worshops to get ready and shows to plan.
I have a workshop in my store this saturday( sorry I did not mention before but it is fully booked) so I'm busy preparing for that. Lindsay Mason is also teaching on Sunday- Spring cardmaking in the morning then Steampunk in the afternoon( you know all the vintage images with a mechanical twist, like the Graphic 45 range which I adore.) There are still a few spaces left on those so give my shop a call for more info 01254 356501.
Jane my incredible assistant is running a day of workshops on Sat 15th May in her own unique style. Jane loves vintage and messy things- tim holtz's products, glue stick embossing, ribbons, lace, she creates some incredible artwork so do give it a try.
Sheena's paint fusion classes are almost full at the end of the month !!! Just a couple of spaces left on the saturday . Stamping on the sunday with Sheena's a little bit sketchy range will also be a fun day, with top tips and new ideas.
Certainly a busy month ahead at my store.
On the Qvc front Caroline is on today at 2pm and 8pm with lots of creative ideas, I will be back next tuesday for my normal slot 2-4pm.
Meanwhile I'll be busy in my shop, lots of new products instore and online to organise and play with.

What a lovely St. George's Day too! It's beautiful weather and I have 2 days off to enjoy it with friends!

It's been a very busy week both at QVC and in my shop but all in a good way. Also so many of you are taking the time to tell me you have enjoyed my shows by posting messages to me on Facebook and Twitter! Thank you for all the lovely comments and yes, I do read every single one!

Thanks also to all of you that visited my shop to "bag a bargain" on Good Friday! I believe it was a fun day and we will certainly make sure we organise another very soon.
The workshop bookings are going very well for Sheena Douglass, Lindsay Mason and Jane Goff with spaces getting booked up extremely fast now so do call if you want to come along.

We have put up lots of new products onto our Website Shop this week including Andy Skinner's incredible acrylic stamp sets as well as Lindsay Mason's new ones! There are also a lot more available to buy on-line from Kanban and the lovely new ranges from Craftwork Cards. With more products being added daily; the on-line shop is constantly growing and is beginning to reflect the vast selection we have for sale at my Design Studio Store.

Classes are now ready for booking - with firm favourite and regular tutor LINDSAY MASON on Sunday 1st of May 10am - 12.00 noon - "SPRING INTO SUMMER WITH FRESH NEW IDEAS FOR CARD MAKING." Price for the workshop is £15.00. Then at 1pm-4pm and by popular demand, a further selection of "STEAM PUNK THEMED CARDS AND TAGS" Price of the workshop is £20.00

Also my right hand girl the very talented JANE GOFF has a workshop on Saturday 14th May 10am -12.00 noon. "CARD MAKING IN JANE'S VERY OWN QUIRKY STYLE" - Price £15.00 Followed by at 1-4pm "SCRAP BOOKING AGAIN JANE'S WAY!!" Price for this workshop is £20.00

And I'm thrilled to announce the return visit of the amazing SHEENA DOUGLASS for the weekend of 28th -29th May.

Saturday 28th May 10am - 12.30pm Sheena will be showing her hot new technique "PAINT FUSION." Price for this workshop is £20.00. This will be followed at 1.30pm-4.00pm by a second "PAINT FUSION" workshop, again priced at £20.00 (Please note that this workshop is different from the morning and gives you the opportunity to spend a full day with Sheena!)

Sunday 29th May 10am- 12.30pm Sheena's workshop will be "A LITTLE BIT SKETCHY STAMPING" the price for this workshop is £20.00. Then at 1.30pm-4.00pm a second workshop "A LITTLE BIT SKETCH STAMPING" again priced at £20.00 (this too is different from the morning class and enables you to spend the whole day with Sheena!)

Please note light refreshments are included in each class, if you are doing full day classes you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or for a further £5 per head lunch can be provided but please let us know well in advance if lunch is required.

While all materials are provided in each class please bring your basic tools- scissors, paper trimmer etc.

What a fabulous weekend it has been,I've even caught a bit of sun.... Had saturday off and spent it out with friends, so nice the first day in a few months!!!
Today was spent in my studio sorting out this weeks shows with Jayne , my right hand girl. Thankfully she has most of it under control, after an afternoon and evening of crafting we seem to have the shows ready, Been a very long week.....
Just to remind you I have a 9pm show tomorrow evening as well as my tuesday 2-4pm slot, There is also an outlet show with Caroline on thursday the 14th at 10am too so dont miss that- some great bargains.
Oh and I should mention we have fabulous new Tim Holtz lines now in the shop so If you are in the area do pop in, we may not be there forever!!!!!

Workshops

Morning all,
Just a quick Hello before I go into work. I have a busy weekend of teaching ahead , still a number of cards to design and prepare! Bit manic with so many shows for next week to prep too.... burning the midnight oil this week I think.
Lots of new lines arrived in my shop this week too- Fabulous new papers from Prima and Graphic 45, can't wait to play with them. Paris and Circus are the theme of the Graphic 45 collections with their usual Quirky feel. I will try and take a few snaps and twitter them later so you can all see.
Well If I dont get a move on I wont be ready for tomorrow!!! Oh by the way Jo will be instore demoing mica flakes, draw and gild and US artquest products tomorrow too so do pop in if you are in the area.

It's a lovely sunny day here in Lancashire, my goats are laid out in the sunshine enjoying the warmth. Daffodils are popping up all around my garden and the birds are singing. I'm just about to head off to the hairdressers and into work to finish off preparations for tomorrows show- dont forget 2-5pm tmrw!!! quite a marathon....
I have a busy week ahead in my store, workshops this weekend. I will be in the shop all weekend teaching so do pop in and say Hello. I noticed the new Tim Holtz distress stains were in the shop - hoping to get chance to have a play with them. Ive just ordered the new Graphic 45 papers so they will hopefully be in for the weekend too.
Anyway I must fly, didn't realise the time!

Been a crazy week but wanted to thank you all for all the lovely cards and presents. It was so nice to meet so many of you, I had a great time but am so glad to be home. I will finally celebrate my birthday with family and friends and hopefully have a little rest.

Hi everyone,
I thought I might as well post this on here as well as in my shop window!
As you know my shop is up for sale and my retail staff have now left...
This leaves me and my girls struggling and in need of help. I am looking for a couple of part time staff to work in the shop- afternoons and weekends in the main. Retail experience preferred(as you will be working on the till serving customers) also a good craft knowledge to answer customer queries. The position will include keeping the shop clean and tidy, merchandising and possibly demonstrating how to use some products etc...
This is mainly being stood up on your feet all day so please do bear that in mind. You will need to be flexible and willing to lend a hand and work as part of a team, we all brew up and muck in when needed.
It is off course a temporary position as I do not know If and when the shop will sell- it could be 3 months or a year I really do not know.
It is essential that you live locally and that you are reliable and enthusiastic. The end of the world?

I just have to say how shocked and horrified I am by what is happening in Japan. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this unbelievable disaster. My thoughts and prayers are with all concerned.
It really seems the world is going crazy!! Is it really the build up to the end predicted in 2012?? scary stuff....
I'm at home preparing show plans and being at Olympia with the tv on in the background - Sky news and it really is terrifying.
What do you all think??

Hello all,
just a quick note to let you know I will be in my store tomorrow from 11am- 4pm. Hi everyone,
Just setting off back home after Tsv day! It was sooo busy, thank you all for your support. Apologies for the delay of posts appearing on here! My stupid phone for some reason won't always allow me to access my blog! I've no idea why? I do exactly the same process every time. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't ! Today I got lucky.....
So glad you all enjoyed the day, I won't be on next tuesday as I'm getting ready for Olympia, I will be back on your screens the following monday and tuesday.
Looking forward to meeting many of you at Olympia and celebrating my birthday.
I'm going to diet from now to then- so I can indulge myself in chocolate and cake on my birthday! Ha ha.... That means no more cakes or starbucks this week!! Aargh... But I'm determined. I'm going to dream of bendicks bittermints all week as my goal. That's my latest addiction. Have you tried them? You have to love dark chocolate and mint but they are delicous. See I'm already delirious!!!

TSV time.

Hello everyone,
yes the time is here! I'm just about ready to set of to London for tonights TSV launch. Its going to be a very busy day for me, for all you Kanban lovers it will be a real treat. The kit is beautiful with lots of different themes- thats all I can say for now although check out my QVC blog for a bit more of an insight.
There are some great kits over the day- my favourite I have to say is the Gilded Birdcage in the 11pm show.... yes I've saved some of the best until last!!!!! sorry.
It's been a crazy week for me trying to get everything ready with less staff! Jane has been incredible as usual burning the midnight oil with me in preperation. I do hope you enjoy the day which makes all the hard work worthwhile.
I would also like to say a big thank you once again for your support and lovely messages coming through. They really do mean a great deal to me, especially on tired or stressful days .
The shop has been busy in particular with all the new embossing folders and V2 cuttlebug now in stock - check out my website too, now we are doing free P&P on all orders over £10 its been so much busier. Also do remember If you are looking for something online and cannot find it call the shop as we have much more available in store that can be posted out. You can also twitter me with your queries! My store.

Hi everyone,
I thought I had better once again come on here and clarify my position ,as it seems my staff are constantly being asked what is happening at my shop!!
Well it is very very simple- the shop is up for sale and will continue to trade until I sell it....... At first due to my sister Rena retiring at the end of March I had hoped to close it down then as I would personally struggle (due to my work commitments for Qvc) to run and keep it open 7 days a week. However this is not as simple as it first seemed ( as we all know bills must be paid) and I am in no position to have the building standing empty and not paying for itself.
Jackie and Gill - 2 of my long term staff members have taken redundancy and moved on even though we did ask them to stay until I have sold it!.I fully understand they wish to explore other opportunities and seek permanent employment. They are lovely girls and I wish them the very best and will be keeping in touch with them both.
This does mean for the time being that when I am not in London it is likely that I will be in my shop, or Amy will be in the shop.
I must also say a very big thank you to Rena,Amy,Jane and Christian for their continual support and the amazing Brenda, Mary and Jo who are always as always helping out in everyway possible.
YES business is carrying on as usual, we are bringing new lines into the store, putting more classes onto our schedule and will for now be open as usual.
We are still running stock reduction sales in some areas of the store- as we are planning to dedicate more area to run bigger classes and events so do pop in and bag a bargain.
Look out for our updated workshop schedule- yes I will be running more weekend classes.....
Well for this week I am preparing for tomorrows 10am outlet show and 1pm stamping show on saturday and then the pressure is on for our TSV day next week.
All systems go, I once again thank all of you out their for your loyal support and hope that you do continue to visit my store and support me through these changing times.
The unknown can be scary but life brings many challenges and changes, we just have to get on with it and do our very best. Let me tell you its a lesson I have learnt well in the last few years.

Busy,Busy week.

Gosh its been chaos here! had my weekend workshops- great fun...Also been trying to get ready for my tuesday show. We have 2 extra shows this week on friday morning 10am and saturday at 1pm so remember to tune in for those. Friday is an outlet show and saturday a stamping show so I will try and cram in lots of demos on that one.
I'm a little bit tired at the moment seems everything is full on with no break- Tsv next week too. My berocca is coming in to good use!!! Can't complain, rather be busy than nothing to do. Anyway folks I best get on will be off to london this evening ,have to get organised.

Oh my!!! I almost forgot...
last year Tim gave me a signed copy of his book 'Compendium of Curiosities' for a special blog candy. At that time my life became a little crazy and i'm afraid it didnt happen... but guess what?? I still have it plus some signed tags and a certain exclusive stamp set that I can also throw in..... I can maybe find a little atc he created yesterday too!!

Hi everyone,
Sorry for not posting before- I'm so frustrated that my blackberry would not let me post while I was on the road....
We had a wonderful time at Qvc yesterday, thank you to the all inspiring Tim Holtz for joining me in my shows. It's such a shame we cannot get Tim to come over more but he is in such demand the world over. It would be lovely to have more of our American crafty friends over much more regular ,its always great to see lots of new ideas from over the other side of the pond!. Plus I get a bit of a break too.....
We are so busy at the moment on Qvc and at my store I'm meeting myself coming backwards. I'm just home from London, tonight I'm working on show plans, tomorrow I must check everything is ready for my weekend of workshops at the shop. Monday back to London for the tuesday show, and extra shows on friday (10am) and saturday (1pm)then back home again to prepare for Olympia 17th-20th of March!!!! All good fun but kinda crazy. Looking forward to meeting many of you there, my birthday always falls on Olympia which always makes it so much more special. 21 again of course!!!
I'm told I will be having a pink themed Birthday party which will be lovely. Check out the twisted thread website or stitch and craft show for more details.
Oh and on my Qvc blog there is a competition to win 2 tickets to come along to the show- worth a look at that.

Kanban Anniversary shows.

Hello everyone,
just a quick post on Valentines Day! hope you all had a lovely day and love is in the air.....
tomorrow on Qvc is 3 hours of Kanban shows for all of you crafting kanban addicts.
Lots of new kits and old favourites will be on air- 2-4pm and 8pm in the evening. Hope you can join me, I had a very busy weekend at my store with my workshops- i will post some pics later on this week. Until then I best get some sleep 5am start to get to London!

Hi everyone,
I would just like to clarify that my shop is not just closing down! It is currently up for sale either as a going concern or the building. We are continuing to trade ,run workshops and replenish popular stock lines- so If you fancy a visit or booking a private workshop then do contact us as normal.
Yes I am making many changes in my life and am currently working to achieve a easier and less stressful life but this will take time. Meantime it is business as normal....
We do have lots of special offers and discounts in store to reduce our stock levels so now is the time to visit!!!! Believe me if there is any news to the contrary I will post it on here, otherwise it is likely you will still see me popping in my store, running my forthcoming classes and trading as usual.
